Day 15: Hair-Try Something New

Today's challenge was a lot of fun!
I use to try new things with my hair everyday in high school
...but lately I feel like I've been in a rut.
*
So...I work with tons of girls who have cute hair everyday.
I was surprised to find out that a couple of girls at work curl their hair with a straightner-I've tried this a couple of times and my hair always turns out looking like a mess!
I ended up bringing my straightner to work and had one of the girls show me how it's done!...I went home and tried it out and it ended up being easier than I thought it would be!
It ended up looking similar to when I use a curling iron, but it was something new and fun to try!
I can't wait to start playing around with it more!
*
So I am beyond blessed to work at OrangeSoda. It has literally been one of the biggest blessings of my whole life.
I am surrounded everyday by my best friends, and people that make me SO happy!
One of these people is my fabulous, gorgeous, smart, hilarious and ambitious boss Melissa.
Seriously I couldn't ask for a better boss/friend! It has been an amazing experience working with her.
She always has my back, and is always looking out for my best interest. I have learned so much from her, she is such an amazing example!

Melissa does an incredible job at making her employees feel appreciated. For instance, on National Receptionist Day, she surprised me with a HUGE sign for my desk, a precious card, and a gift card to Old Navy.
I still can't believe how thoughtful she was.
*
I finally hit up Old Navy to spend my gift card and ended up finding the pictured green dress...
I seriously worship this dress!
It is absolutely the most comfortable dress I've ever owned, and not to mention the top is absolutely fabulous. I love how original and soft the fabric it is as well =)
Anyway...Thank you so much Melissa!
I freaking love you girlfriend!

Day 14: Copy Someone Else

Today I decided to try and copy the one and only Kim Kardashian.
I love the Kardashians!
I love that they represent girls with curves...
since I am obviously a girl with curves =)

So I know I will never look like a Kardashian...
but this was my attempt!

Day 13: Neutral with a POP!

Top: Ross; Skirt: Macy's
Heels: Pulse; Accessories: All over =)

The second I read about this challenge,
I knew exactly what I would wear...
anything to break out my fave heels! =)

...Seriously I'm obsessed!

Today was another perfect day at the pool,
(even though I got fried...
luckily it'll turn into a tan by tomorrow)
then Jess and I decided to go to the
park to take pics for today's challenge.
Like always, we had a blast!

I don't know if it's because I worked
at Victoria's Secret for 3 years...but I freaking love
black and pink!
They are definitely my fave colors...
I love how sassy they look when they are combined!
Worship!

Today's challenge was a lot of fun!
I love wearing a neutral and then
splashing it with color
(color of course = accessories)
=)
...
Have I mentioned how much I worship these heels???
...

...Just sayin... =)

Day 12: Jazz up Your Jeans

 Shirt: Ross; Sweater Vest: Ross; Jeans: Rue21;
Flats: Ross, Accessories: All over =)
*
Like I mentioned on Day 8,
I love dressing up jeans!
I usually spice it up with a blazer or a waist belt,
so  I decided to try something different and "jazz" it up with a
collared shirt and sweater vest...
and of course,
tons of accessories!
It's been interesting digging jeans out for the challenges
(since I live in dresses and skirts in the summer)
I guess it's about that time
I admit that summer is almost over =(
...
not a fan
...
*
On a happier note...
Jess and I went to Riverwoods tonight
and we had a blast!
Riverwoods is one of my faves because they have
delish restaurants and fabulous shopping...
and not to mention great places to take pics!
...so naturally Jess and I got carried away
once again with picture taking for today's challenge =)

Have I mentioned how much I worship my roommate?!! =)
Seriously freaking love that girl!

Day 11: Dress or Skirt

Dress: Vanity; Undershirt: DownEast; Leggings: Forever21
Sandals: Forever Young; Accessories: All over =)
*
Today's challenge was super easy
because 97% of the time in the summer
you will find me in a dress or a skirt.
So I decided that I would take today
and pay tribute to one of my fave dresses:

I love this dress:
I love the shape, I love that it was a great deal,
I love the fact that I can finally fit into it again,
I love the colors (easy to accessorize),
I love that you can dress it up with heels or dress it down with leggings and flats.
Like I said, definitely one of my fave pieces that I own.

 *
Jess and I went to Central Utah Gardens
which is located literally down the street from us...
I've lived at my condo for years now,
and am embarrassed to say that this was the first time I'd been there...
it is such a hidden treasure!
I definitely found a new peaceful spot to read!
*
We had a lot of fun...especially in the play houses!...
Yes we are 5 years old sometimes...

And PS I have a crush on bows...

Day 10: Wear an Orphan

Top: Vanity, Blazer: Thrifted; Gauchos: Vanity
Heels: Victoria's Secret; Accessories: All over =)

This entire outfit is orphaned...
About 6 years ago (wow I feel old saying that)
I worked at Victoria's Secret and Vanity at the same time.
I loved dressing up for both jobs.
Back then, this was pretty classic look for me:
black bottoms and black blazer
paired with a sparkly top, accessories to match...and huge hair =)
I will probably work the top back into my wardrobe,
but there is definitely a reason why I haven't worn the gauchos and heels in so long! =)
...I don't know why I can't get rid of them...
*
This challenge was a great idea.
It was a fun opportunity to play in my closet,
find some forgotten treasures,
and have a blast from the past moment =)

Day 9: Monochromatic

Tank: DownEast; Top: Victoria's Secret; Pants: Kohl's;
Heels: Charlotte Russe; Accessories: All over =)

Originally I was going to wear a
LBD with black heels for today's challenge;
but I figured that would be way too easy...
especially because that is one of my fave looks.
So I decided that since this is a challenge and everything,
I should branch out of my comfort zone...
and that's exactly what I did...
Wearing all red is probably not something that I will ever do again...but it was a fun look to try!
And it was entertaining digging through
my closet and dresser to find all the pieces.

Happy Late Birthday Brett/Pops/Dad!

When I was in high school I received the biggest blessing of my whole life: meeting my best friend Laurice Latimer
[ now Wilde...love you Eric =) ].
My family life was a complete wreck, and Laurice's family swooped in and provided me with a stable environment; and a warm, fun, family to become a part of. They took me in, and have always treated me like one of their own. I often refer to the Latimer's as my second family, or my adopted family,
either way...they are my family.
I love them more than I can handle!
*
The past couple of years Laurice and Missy have gotten all dressed up and taken their dad to Bombay House for his birthday dinner. Last year Brett told me that the only thing missing at dinner was me...it almost made me cry...he is precious.
 *
So yesterday Laurice, Missy, Lexi and I got all dressed up to take Dad to Bombay House. While we were getting ready Lexi entertained the little squishee:

...Yes, they are standing on a dresser playing in the mirror...and yes I do know they are way too cute!
*
Dinner was absolutely fabulous!

So Laurice and Missy warned me that we would get a lot of attention because of our attire...
to say the least they were absolutely right...
I kind of felt like a celebrity!
All of the workers there would not stop staring and smiling...it was so funny/flattering (and maybe a tiny bit creepy)! =)

I love these girls more than they will ever know.
They are my sisters, my best friends, and my partners in crime =)
 *
Happy Birthday Brett/Pops/Dad!
Thank you for always treating me like one of your own,
I'm so grateful for you and the example you've been to me.
I love you!

Day 8: Mix Fancy and Casual

Top: Ross; Blazer: Vanity; Jeans: Ten25
Accessories: All over =)
*
Today's challenge was really simple to put together,
because it's one of my favorite looks.
I sport the fancy/casual look quite frequently at work.
It's always fun to dress up a pair of jeans.

*
My roommate Jess and I drove out to the
Sri Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork
to pick me up a sari for dinner tomorrow night...
I'm so excited to wear it!
While we were at the temple Jess was sweet enough to take the pictures for today's challenge.
...
and like always we had too much fun
and turned it into our own little photo shoot...

I love you Jess =)

Day 7: Layer Accessories

Cardi: Ross; Dress: Rue 21; Leggings: Forever 21
Accessories: All over =)
*
So considering my slight obsession with accessories...
this challenge has been my favorite so far!
I decided to wear my most colorful dress,
so I could layer a
colorful variety of jewelry.

I am always accessorized (or Neige~i~fied) =) ,
but it was fun to have an excuse to layer and take my
accessorizing obsession to a whole new level =)

Thanks Kayla
for all your hard work on
creating and carrying out the challenge,
seriously I've been having such a blast!...
as if you can't tell =)

Day 6: Get Creative

 Get Creative:
Headband = Men's Tie (thrifted)
Earrings = Wire (DIY)
Necklace = Belt Buckle (thrifted)
Belt on skirt = Men's Clip-on Tie (thrifted)
Bracelets = Belts (thrifted)
                   Rings = Sheet Music
                 Anklet = Belt (thrifted)

 *
I was in my living room, trying to figure out what to do for the challenge "Get Creative". I glanced over at the piano, and that's when my crazy ideas started cookin!
*
I made rings out of sheet music,
and bracelets and anklet out of belts:

I took the belt buckle off a belt,
and made it into a necklace:

I took a men's tie and turned it into a headband.
I then took a clip-on tie and clipped it onto my skirt:

My amazing roommate then took wire and
created a treble clef and bass clef,
which I made into earrings.
They didn't show up too well in pics, so I put them on top of
The Phantom to do them more justice:

This challenge really stumped me at first,
but once I got going,
it was a ton of fun letting my creative juices flow!
